À Val d’Or est décédé, à l’âge de 95 ans, M. Roland Fortier époux Thérèse Bourgeois.
Ancien membre du Régiment, Roland a reçu, en 2015, par décret du Président de la République Française le grade de Chevalier de l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur
Roland est médaillé de :
• Etoile 1939-45 :
• Etoile France Allemagne
• Médaille de la Défense
• Médaille Canadienne de Service Volontaire
La société Radio Canada de Val d’Or a fait un hommage à ce vétéran du Régiment pionnier de la ville de Val d’Or.

Une cérémonie commémorative aura lieu à Val d’Or Vendredi le 21 Juin 2019.

Mr. Roland Fortier passed away in Val d’Or at the age of 95. He was the husband of Therese Bourgeois.A Member of the Regiment he was made Knight of the Legion d’Honneur by Decree from the President of the French Republic.Roland also received the following distinctions:

- Defense Medal
- Canadian Volunteer Service Medal
