Apr\u00e8s leur premier aum\u00f4nier, Monseigneur \u00c9douard Fabre et Monseigneur Emmanuel Deschamps Ce dernier fut, quant \u00e0 lui, \u00e9v\u00eaque-auxiliaire de Montr\u00e9al de 1925 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa mort en 1940.<br \/>\nAncien soldat des Carabiniers Mont-Royal avant d\u2019\u00e9tudier la pr\u00eatrise, puis aum\u00f4nier du r\u00e9giment au d\u00e9but du 20e si\u00e8cle avec le grade de Major. Mgr Emmanuel Deschamps adh\u00e9ra \u00e0 la Section canadienne-fran\u00e7aise de l\u2019Association des v\u00e9t\u00e9rans de la Grande Guerre et en fut le premier aum\u00f4nier.<\/p>\n<p>Pionnier de l\u2019enseignement et de l\u2019\u00e9ducation des sourds-muets, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 aum\u00f4nier \u00e0 l\u2019Institution des Sourdes et muettes, alors tenue par les S\u0153urs de la Providence, dont il devait d\u2019ailleurs, \u00e9ventuellement, devenir aum\u00f4nier des Dames patronnesses  et puis sup\u00e9rieur des \u0152uvres des Sourdes et muettes. Toujours d\u00e9sireux d\u2019implanter au Qu\u00e9bec un enseignement de qualit\u00e9 pour les jeunes sourdes et muettes, Monseigneur Deschamps a m\u00eame travers\u00e9 l\u2019Atlantique en bateau, en 1921, pour aller s\u2019informer de ce qui se faisait en Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Il a commenc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re eccl\u00e9siastique \u00e0 la paroisse Saint-Eus\u00e8be, puis a \u00e9t\u00e9 cur\u00e9 \u00e0 Sainte-Brigide avant d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e9lu Vicaire-g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du dioc\u00e8se de Montr\u00e9al. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 Chanoine honoraire de l\u2019\u00c9glise m\u00e9tropolitaine de Montr\u00e9al avant d\u2019\u00eatre nomm\u00e9 Protonotaire apostolique puis \u00c9v\u00eaque auxiliaire.
